Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for IT operations and report directly to the VP of IT.
- Supervise the organization’s managed service provider (MSP), directing day-to-day work, reviewing performance against service-level agreements (SLAs), and serving as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Partner with the VP of IT on the IT roadmap, infrastructure planning, and annual technology budget.
- Own key vendor and service-provider relationships, including contracts and renewals with the third-party IT/security vendor and MSP (SHI International Corp.).
- Develop, maintain, and enforce IT policies, standards, and documentation across the organization.
Hardware & Device Management
- Oversee procurement, configuration, deployment, and full lifecycle management of laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Standardize device builds and maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware assets across corporate and field environments.
- Manage vendor relationships and purchasing decisions related to hardware and IT equipment.
- Ensure field staff are equipped with reliable, secure, and properly configured devices, including local office internet and networking equipment.
Password & Credential Management
- Establish and enforce password policies, including complexity, rotation, and reuse standards across all systems.
- Administer multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) for organizational accounts.
- Manage credential provisioning, secure password resets, and use of an organizational password manager.
- Monitor for compromised or weak credentials and remediate account security risks promptly.
User Access Management & Offboarding
- Provision and grant appropriate system and application access for new and changing roles based on the principle of least privilege.
- Maintain role-based access controls and conduct periodic access reviews aligned with organizational policies.
- Manage timely offboarding upon resignation or termination, ensuring removal of all system access, device retrieval, and protection of company data.
Device Monitoring & Management
- Administer the organization’s Google Workspace environment, including user management, device policies, and system configuration.
- Deploy and manage endpoint and mobile device management (MDM) tools to monitor device health, security posture, and compliance.
- Monitor devices and systems for vulnerabilities, security incidents, and unauthorized activity, and coordinate timely responses.
- Support the organization’s cybersecurity and HIPAA safeguards in coordination with the third-party IT/security vendor (SHI International Corp.).
End-User Support
- Provide local and remote IT support for corporate and field personnel.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Ensure prompt resolution of technical issues to minimize operational disruption.
- Develop documentation and processes to improve support efficiency and user experience.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5–7+ years of IT administration experience, including experience leading projects and managing vendors or a managed service provider (MSP), ideally in a multi-site or field-based environment.
- Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace, including user, device, and security policy management.
- Proficiency with endpoint and mobile device management (MDM) tools and full device lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of identity and access management, including MFA/SSO, role-based access controls, and password-manager solutions.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and HIPAA security safeguards.
- Strong hardware, software, and network connectivity troubleshooting skills, with experience managing procurement and vendor relationships.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to support both corporate and field staff.
- Demonstrated ability to set technical standards, oversee a managed service provider (MSP) and other vendors, and contribute to IT planning and budgeting.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Google Workspace Administrator, CompTIA Network+ or Security+, or ITIL).
