About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Issue Clerk to support operations at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Artesia, New Mexico. This position involves managing the stock and issuance of clothing items, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of clothing items to support the smooth functioning of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the laundry services, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and organizing clothing items.
- Maintain inventory records of all clothing items, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Receive requests for clothing items and issue them to employees following established procedures.
- Ensure that all issued clothing items are properly recorded and accounted for.
- Inspect returned clothing items for damages, wear and tear, and cleanliness, and take appropriate actions such as repair, replacement, or laundering.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, storage spaces, and workstations.
- Follow established safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all staff and students, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
- Stay updated on the organization's policies, procedures, and clothing requirements to effectively perform the job responsibilities.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
