About the role
As an Insulator, you will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of industrial plants by installing, maintaining, and repairing insulation materials on pipes, ducts, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain insulation materials on industrial equipment, pipes, and ductwork to minimize heat loss or gain.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine insulation requirements.
- Measure and cut insulation materials to fit equipment and structures accurately.
- Apply insulation using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards during all tasks.
- Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Inspect and assess existing insulation for damage or inefficiency and recommend repairs or replacements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Insulator or in a similar role within industrial or construction settings.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and insulation-specific equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to insulation work.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Knowledge of insulation materials, including fiberglass, mineral wool, foam, and reflective insulation.
- Experience with industrial insulation techniques and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address insulation challenges on-site.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
