ISO Management Systems Program Manager

Purpose of Position

The Management Systems Program Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, auditing, maintenance, and continuous improvement of organizational management systems. This position ensures compliance with applicable industry standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, while supporting operational excellence, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and organizational performance. The incumbent collaborates with leadership and operational stakeholders to establish effective quality, environmental, and safety management practices that drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Essential Functions

• Lead the implementation, restructuring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance with applicable standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. Support external certification and surveillance audits conducted by third-party registrars.
• Interpret quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety standards and ensure organizational processes and documentation meet certification and compliance requirements.
• Facilitate root cause analysis, corrective action plans, preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to resolve nonconformities and improve overall system effectiveness.
• Develop, revise, and maintain management system documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, process maps, audit reports, and records necessary to demonstrate compliance.
• Provide training, guidance, and technical expertise to management and staff regarding management system requirements, auditing practices, compliance expectations, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), prepare management review reports, analyze trends, and recommend strategic improvements to enhance organizational performance and compliance outcomes.
• Facilitate risk assessments and opportunity evaluations associated with quality, environmental, and safety management systems, ensuring risks are identified, monitored, and mitigated appropriately.
• Partner with operational leaders, regulatory agencies, customers, vendors, and external auditors to support certification efforts, process improvements, and organizational quality objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience auditing, implementing, managing, or restructuring ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, AS9100 Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and/or ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems or nine (9) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of management system principles, auditing methodologies, risk-based thinking, and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience preparing organizations for certification or recertification audits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 45001.
• Experience with ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems and food quality programs.
• Experience utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Professional certifications related to quality, environmental management, or occupational health and safety.
• Experience working in manufacturing, aerospace, food production, healthcare, higher education, or regulated industries.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm.
• 10% Travel.
• Requires occasional evening or weekend hours.
• This position is grant funded, and the grant is expected to continue until 06/30/2027.
• Driving personal vehicle required.

Salary

The annual salary for this position ranges from $95,100 to 144,400. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
