IS Technician I

About the role

The IS Technician I is responsible for the installation, configuration, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers, mobile devices, printers, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains software and hardware.
• Upgrades, repairs, and replaces computer-related equipment.
• Provides training and instruction to personal computer users.
• Achieves departmental goals and metrics for assigned functional areas.
• Communicates feedback to the supervisor regarding workflows and policies.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in assigned functional areas.
• Performs high-level administrative functions to comply with regulations and reporting requirements.
• Assists the supervisor with general responsibilities and duties.
• Purchases computer-related hardware and software equipment.
• Assists computer users in resolving issues.
• Plans, installs, and maintains local and wide area networks.
• Adheres to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy; regular attendance is considered an essential function.
• Ability to present to and work at any FHCN location, both at the beginning of a shift or during a shift, based on business need.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Effective June 1, 2026, all individuals hired must possess work-related skills at a higher level than completion of high school, including formal written and verbal communications, computational, computer, mathematical, and technical skills.
• Proof of completion of high school with a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 or completion of General Educational Development (GED) with a minimum overall score of 162.5. If an individual has completed a higher-level degree with a stronger GPA, that may be provided in lieu of high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of experience demonstrating specific knowledge and training in computer systems and computer repairs, or equivalent work experience.
• Valid CA driver’s license and car insurance.

Skills

• Ability to prepare complex documents in Microsoft Word, including tables, charts, graphs, and other elements.
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel to review and compile data, including formulas, functions, lookup tables, and other standard spreadsheet elements.
• Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Effectively conveys technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Compiles information in effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles, or other documentation.

• Regularly required to sit and use repetitive hand movements to type and grasp.
• Frequently required to stand or walk.
• Occasionally required to stoop, reach above and below shoulder height, squat, climb, lift, and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Must work in environmental elements, including cold and hot weather.
• Must travel from site to site and to other non-FHCN locations.

Pay

Hourly rate: $21.25 – $29.33
