Responsibilities
- Aid in operating industrial waste treatment equipment or power tools as per company and client guidelines.
- Check equipment at the start of each shift; hook up and break down hoses using appropriate tools.
- Manually clean, install, fit, repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and other equipment.
- Maintain equipment and perform basic maintenance tasks.
- Clean up work area and equipment after completing tasks.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
- Inspect equipment, hoses, connections, pumps, and the work area before starting any job.
- Inform supervisors of any deficiencies that could lead to accidents, injuries, or lost productivity.
- Wear personal protective equipment as prescribed by posted signs, written instructions, and work permits.
- Promote safety through actions and work habits.
- Report all accidents and near-misses to supervisors immediately.
- Operate alone only under direct supervision.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- May need to provide a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Completion of basic safety courses including site-specific procedures.
- Successful completion of all required local training and OSHA training.
- Must be physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Must have access to a telephone.
- Must comply with physical requirements.
- Must have attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
- Must be a safe driver.
- Must read, write, and comprehend in English.
- Must have a valid driver's license and meet company's driving policy requirements when using company vehicles or driving on company business.
- Must have reliable transportation.
