IS Supervisor
About the role
HPC-Industrial, Powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking a Supervisor IS (Industrial Services) to join their safety-conscious team. This position involves managing and leading multiple service line crews, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of customer relations.
Responsibilities
- Instructs, provides feedback, and directs crew members in performing job duties to meet client requirements and company policies.
- Enforces company policies and may remove employees from work when necessary.
- Schedules jobs and crews, dispatches crews based on call volume, and acts as Operations Manager/Branch Manager when needed.
- Reads work orders, inspects equipment, and corrects deficiencies to ensure safety and compliance.
- Communicates job status and client requirements to clients.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Completes paperwork and trains technicians and operators on equipment operation and service line processes.
- Operates various service line equipment according to safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability in people management.
- Strong knowledge in operating service line equipment.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel (Microsoft Access is a plus).
- Experience with Win Web (HPC Software).
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting equipment.
- CDL, forklift, and backhoe certifications for plant operations.
Job Duties May Be Needed
- Calculate load weights for manifest completion.
- Issue manifests correctly per waste stream, transporter, TSDF, and PO.
- Maintain filing systems for issued and returned manifests.
- Aid HPC drivers with Win Web ticket entries.
- Schedule pit loads at TSDFs.
- Aid Heath with roll-off logistics (moves, re-spotting, deliveries).
- Perform weekly inspections of roll-offs and coordinate with vac truck supervisors for water and oil removal.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in the industrial cleaning industry.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- English language proficiency to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of OSHA certification may be required.
- Knowledge of emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers.
- RCRA certificates may be required.
- Ability to provide Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) if needed.
