Irrigation Technician

Responsibilities

• Accurately diagnose irrigation equipment problems.
• Able to excavate with skill and know where to dig.
• Able to communicate using industry terms.
• Field communications: must be able to effectively follow common diagnostic instructions from senior specialists.
• Program the following controllers and know their working/default modes:
• Irritrol MC series
• Irritrol MC+A
• Irritrol MC+B
• Dial A/B
• Rainmaster Centar and Evolution series
• Have basic knowledge of irrigation design.
• Capable of pipe class, valve identification including the following valves: Hardie 100, Series 700, Weathermatic (all plastic series), Rainbird DV series.
• Capable of nozzle identification and usage.
• Knowledge of basic hydraulics: Valve size, flow demand, static and dynamic PSI and how they affect performance.
• Able to assist in performing an irrigation systems check and repairs or upgrades required for proper coverage and efficient water utilization.
• Able to assist in repairs of large scale irrigation breaks, main line repairs, valve repairs and replacements, track electrical shorts in remote controller programs as well as a lateral line repairs, and irrigation head replacements and adjustments.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively understand and communicate with manager and fellow crewmembers.
• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Landscape maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
• Irrigation: 2 years (Required)
• Driver's License (Required)
