This is an opportunity to use your technical expertise while developing skills in operations, team leadership, customer relationships, and business growth.
- A clear step into management—move from field work to formally leading and developing an irrigation service team.
- Stay connected to hands-on work—this is not a desk-only position. You will remain involved in troubleshooting, site visits, estimating, and helping technicians solve complex irrigation problems.
- Build your leadership experience by managing technicians and office support staff while learning about scheduling, job costing, team performance, and department profitability.
- Work directly with customers to assess needs, recommend solutions, prepare estimates, and turn service opportunities into completed work.
- Make a visible impact by improving processes, developing employees, strengthening customer relationships, and helping grow the irrigation service division.
Responsibilities
- Lead Daily Irrigation Operations
- Coordinate technician schedules, service calls, and daily routing.
- Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Support communication between field technicians, office staff, and customers.

- Support and Develop the Team
- Provide technical guidance and field support to irrigation technicians.
- Coach employees on troubleshooting, repair quality, customer service, and efficiency.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Help create a dependable, safety-focused, and accountable team culture.
- Troubleshoot Complex Irrigation Issues
- Visit job sites to diagnose difficult residential and commercial irrigation problems.
- Support technicians with controllers, valves, wiring, sprinkler heads, leaks, coverage issues, and system performance.
- Recommend practical repair or replacement solutions.
- Ensure work meets Color Burst Landscapes' quality standards.
- Estimate Repairs and Service Work
- Assess the materials required to complete irrigation repairs.
- Estimate the labor hours needed to perform the work.
- Prepare clear and accurate repair estimates or proposals.
- Explain recommendations to customers and answer questions.
- Follow up on open estimates and help move approved work forward.
- Support Department Performance
- Monitor labor, materials, job costs, and productivity.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Support revenue, customer satisfaction, and estimate-conversion goals.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience servicing, repairing, or installing irrigation systems.
- Experience diagnosing residential and commercial irrigation problems.
- Previous leadership experience as a lead technician, foreman, supervisor, crew leader, manager, or business owner.
- Ability to determine the appropriate materials and labor needed for irrigation repairs.
- Confidence communicating with customers and explaining recommended work.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
