Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in the installation of irrigation systems, including pipes, valves, controllers, and sprinkler heads.
- Diagnose and repair irrigation system issues such as leaks, electrical faults, and water pressure inconsistencies.
- Perform system start-ups, winterizations, and routine inspections to ensure optimal performance.
- Program and adjust irrigation controllers for efficiency and proper watering schedules.
- Lead and manage a crew, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality craftsmanship.
- Provide hands-on training and guidance to crew members.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure job completion within set timelines.
- Enforce safety procedures and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Communicate professionally with clients to assess their irrigation needs and provide recommendations.
- Document work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Provide feedback to management regarding project progress and crew performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of irrigation installation and maintenance experience, preferably in a leadership role.
- Knowledgeable in: Irrigation system components, water conservation techniques, troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise, train, and motivate a team.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints, follow irrigation layouts, and use tools and equipment properly.
- Certifications (Preferred): Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) or other industry-related certifications.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean record (CDL is a plus).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform manual labor.
