Who thrives in this role?

• Experienced Steel Erector: Skilled in rigging, connecting, plumbing, and bolting structural steel.
• Blueprint Confident: Comfortable reading plans and understanding structural layouts.
• Height Ready: Comfortable working at elevation on active construction sites.
• Weather Tough: Able to work in heat, cold, wind—if the job's moving, you're working.

Responsibilities

• Install and erect structural steel to keep projects on schedule.
• Ensure steel connections, alignment, and installation meet quality standards.
• Interpret blueprints and layout instructions accurately.
• Protect materials, maintain tools, and help keep the jobsite organized.
• Follow safety protocols and speak up when something isn’t right.

Qualifications

• 3+ years ironworker experience in steel erection.
• Proficiency in rigging, connecting, plumbing, and bolting.
• Ability to read plans and follow construction layouts.
• Personal ironworker tools.
• U.S. citizenship or naturalized citizenship.

Pay & Benefits

• Competitive pay: $28–$36 per hour based on experience (50–60 hours per week).
• Per diem: $600–$700 per week for workers traveling outside the project area.
• Overtime opportunities available to boost earnings.
• Consistent work on ongoing steel erection projects in the Columbia / Annapolis Junction area.
• Plenty of overtime: 50–60 hours of work per week.
