IR Technologist I- PRN
About the role
Performs invasive procedures partnered with the interventional radiologist. Responsible for patient assessment, education pre and post procedure, safe care and monitoring of patient during the procedure. Responsible for safe administration of radiation, contrast dosing and image processing.
Responsibilities
- Performs invasive procedures under the supervision of the interventional radiologist.
- Assesses patients before and after procedures, providing necessary education.
- Maintains patient safety and monitors them during the procedure.
- Safely administers radiation, contrast, and processes images.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology and minimum 1 year of experience in interventional radiology preferred and /or graduate of an advanced IR program.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Experience: At least two years of modality specific work experience required.
- Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of advanced modality skills.
- Flexibility to rotate between different modalities.

Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
Pay
Hourly rate, Pay Grade Health-27.
Schedule
Scheduled Weekly Hours 12, Work Shift.
