You are a person who is passionate about supporting the quality, reliability, usability, and performance of Signature Performance software products, platforms, integrations, and workflow-enabled solutions. We need someone who designs, executes, and improves testing practices across functional, regression, integration, data, and user acceptance testing activities. In the role of IR&D SQA Engineer II, you will be contributing to continuous improvement of testing standards, defect management practices, quality metrics, and release readiness processes.

About The Position

  • Review business requirements, functional requirements, technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other solution documentation to develop appropriate test strategies and test plans.

  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, and testing documentation in alignment with defined SQA standards and methodologies.

  • Execute manual testing across software applications, workflow solutions, integrations, reports, data exchanges, and user-facing functionality.

  • Support automated testing activities where appropriate, including executing existing automation scripts and identifying opportunities for automation.

  • Perform regression testing when new functionality is deployed, defects are resolved, integrations are updated, or configuration changes are released.

  • Conduct back-end and data validation testing using SQL or other approved tools to confirm data accuracy, logic, processing outcomes, and system behavior.

  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution using approved defect management and work tracking tools.

  • Partner with developers, configuration analysts, product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, investigate issues, validate fixes, and support release readiness.

  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, release planning, defect triage, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other delivery meetings as needed.

  • Track and report quality assurance metrics, including test execution, test coverage, defect trends, open defects, resolved defects, and release readiness indicators.

  • Support user acceptance testing by helping business users understand test objectives, scenarios, expected results, and defect reporting processes.

  • Validate that solutions meet client needs, operational workflows, compliance expectations, and defined acceptance criteria.

  • Investigate causes of non-conforming software behavior and collaborate with team members to define corrective actions.

  • Develop, maintain, and improve testing processes for new and existing products, platforms, integrations, and workflow-enabled solutions.

  • Contribute to quality practices for healthcare technology solutions, claims-related workflows, EDI/data exchange processes, AI-enabled tools, and no-code/low-code platforms where applicable.

  • Support solution delivery for government, healthcare, and enterprise environments where security, privacy, compliance, and operational readiness are critical.

  • Stay current with software testing methodologies, test management tools, automation practices, Agile delivery methods, healthcare IT trends, and quality assurance best practices.

  • Coach, mentor, or provide guidance to SQA Engineers, SQA Analysts, or project team members in the execution of testing activities when needed.

  • Support release management activities by validating functionality, documenting known issues, confirming testing completion, and communicating quality risks.

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to strengthen testing standards, defect workflows, documentation quality, and delivery predictability.

  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance, software testing, healthcare technology, systems testing, or related IT delivery environments.

  • Experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, test scripts, test scenarios, and defect documentation.

  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, processes, and best practices.

  • Experience with functional, regression, integration, data validation, and user acceptance testing.

  • Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.

  • Ability to review business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, process documentation, and technical design documents.

  • Ability to identify risks, gaps, defects, and inconsistencies in requirements, design, functionality, or expected outcomes.

  • Experience using work tracking or defect management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

  • Working knowledge of SQL or other data validation methods.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple testing priorities across projects, releases, and stakeholder groups.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, operations teams, and client-facing teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, escalate blockers, and communicate status clearly.
