Key Responsibilities
- Manage the trademark application process from inception to registration, including conducting comprehensive trademark searches and preparing and filing applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Respond to office actions and coordinate with clients to address any issues that may arise during the registration process.
- Develop and manage global trademark portfolio strategy, including preparing and prosecuting international trademark applications, managing local counsel and communicating with clients.
- Develop and implement strategies for trademark enforcement, including monitoring and addressing potential infringement issues.
- Draft and send cease-and-desist letters and negotiate settlement agreements, as necessary.
- Collaborate with external counsel as needed on complex litigation cases.
- Assist in trademark litigation matters, including conducting legal research, preparing pleadings and supporting discovery efforts.
- Collaborate closely with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to ensure a cohesive approach to trademark matters.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and outreach efforts to promote the firm’s trademark services.
Qualifications
- 9-15 years of experience in trademark law, with a strong background in trademark prosecution and enforcement.
- Excellent analytical, research and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
