Entry-level position supporting in-process and quality control inspection for composite production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform resin content and fiber area weight testing for Unitape composite production, including opening and closing work orders.
  • Conduct viscosity testing to validate mix room output and maintain viscometer database.
  • Perform primary inspection on products from Adhesive, Woven, and Unitape processing lines.
  • Maintain full traceability of product from raw material to finished goods for all samples collected, tested, and retained.
  • Store QC retained samples in 40° or 0° box storage.
  • Compile and record test data using an electronic database and production quality records.
  • Alert appropriate personnel about nonconforming results, conditions, or raw materials.
  • Obtain in-process or production samples for retains or testing.
  • Open and close work orders for Adhesive, Woven, and Unitape production lines.
  • Verify VMP, paperwork (PCC, MSC), run conditions, calibration status of equipment, and raw material expiration dates before production.
  • Perform testing and inspection per product and work order requirements, following coordinated test plans.
  • Maintain lot traceability in materials, records, WIP, raw materials, and sample retains.
  • Compile test data and complete quality records, forms, and ERP database entries.
  • Identify, label, and communicate non-conforming materials, processes, or data to operators, QC, and QA.
  • Contact manufacturing and engineering departments for non-conforming products or equipment.
  • Support root cause analysis of surface defects on Adhesive, Woven, and Unitape products.
  • Work under production supervisors or manager when QC supervisor is not on site.
  • Ensure process conformity and place non-conforming materials or conditions on DMR (Discrepant Material Report).
  • Follow safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and precise work environment.
  • Exhibit professional conduct and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High-school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in composites manufacturing or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Proficiency in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to conduct all job functions in English, including reading, interpreting, and writing documents (safety rules, instructions, reports).
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in testing.

Skills

  • Ability to calculate, sum, average, and work with fractions and percentages.
  • Experience with ERP systems and electronic databases.
  • Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
  • Multi-language skills are a plus.

Pay

$21.50 – $25.00 per hour. Salary may be adjusted based on geographic location, scope of responsibilities, experience, skills, and internal equity.
