About the role
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides client-specific clerical, administrative, and legal support. Uses judgment while planning and organizing tasks to ensure established priorities are met for assigned attorney and client team.
Responsibilities
- Provide client team support, including a range of clerical and administrative duties such as the preparation of intricate and detailed correspondence.
- Help prepare and file patent applications, download routine prior art, and assist with docketing and completing formalities for patent prosecution.
- Use various applications, including MS Office applications, online applications, and the firm’s document management system.
- Input specific information on correspondence templates to generate form letters and agreements following detailed instructions.
- Maintain specific filing processes and update databases to track each step in the process.
- Assist with legal support tasks as assigned.
- Assist with additional projects and tasks as needed.
Will be trained on procedures and essential duties.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and email.
- Ability to effectively learn to use various applications and databases, such as Outlook and the firm’s document management system.
- Strong analytical abilities and the ability to work independently while navigating specific processes.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot independently, and professional interaction with others.
- Exceptional customer service, oral, and written communication skills.
- Good judgment and ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Ability to perform efficiently, maintain high quality and quantity of work, and adapt to changes effectively.
- Consistently maintain good attendance, reliability, and ability to work overtime if needed.
Qualifications
- Some college, related education, or training beyond a high school diploma.
- At least two years of related experience.
