About the role
We are seeking an Infection Preventionist (IP LPN LVN) to join our dynamic team. This position plays a crucial role in developing, directing, and monitoring the facility's infection prevention and control program.
Responsibilities
- Develop, direct, and monitor the facility's infection prevention and control program
- Ensure the facility is in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Make rounds of nursing units and review environmental sanitation procedures
- Analyze infectious disease lab reports and consult with the Director of Nursing
- Prepare summaries of all resident/staff infections, corrective actions taken, and results for submission
- Meet with staff, residents, and family members to explain precautions and ensure appropriate hand-hygiene techniques are followed
Requirements
- Unencumbered LVN/LPN license in the state
- Knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care
Nice to have
- Infection control experience
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) environment
- Experience with PointClickCare
