Investment Strategist – Platform Distribution

This position operates in a hybrid working model, requiring in-office work 4 days per week. Locations: Charlotte, NC or Milwaukee, WI.
Responsibilities
- Leadership
- Build credibility with clients through investment expertise, strong relationship management, and industry knowledge.
- Develop and maintain relationships with manager research teams, discretionary portfolio managers, and other key decision-makers to identify current and future opportunities.
- Collaborate across Allspring to share client insights, market intelligence, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and a “give first” mentality, where information, ideas, and opportunities are shared openly across teams.
- Contribute to Allspring and Platform Team thought leadership initiatives.
- Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the asset management industry, industry trends, and a broad range of investment products and solutions.
- Knowledge of intermediary market business models, including broker-dealers, private banks, annuity providers, and TAMPs.
- Understanding of manager selection processes and professional buyer decision-making frameworks.
- Working knowledge of investment product structures, including Mutual Funds, Managed Accounts, and ETFs.
- Ability to synthesize market developments, industry trends, and client feedback into actionable insights.
- Sales & Consulting
- Support efforts to generate new recommendations, discretionary model placements, and sub-advisory mandates.
- Maintain and strengthen existing recommendations, placements, and mandates.
- Effectively represent Allspring’s investment capabilities and articulate their differentiation relative to competitors.
- Partner with key account teams to develop and execute client-specific engagement strategies.
- Apply a consultative approach to help clients make informed investment decisions and identify appropriate investment solutions.
- Intelligent Distribution
- Develop relationships with manager research and discretionary portfolio management teams to uncover and advance business opportunities.
- Share industry developments, market intelligence, and client feedback with portfolio managers and internal stakeholders.
- Leverage data, insights, and market knowledge to support business development efforts and strengthen platform relationships.
- Identify trends and opportunities across professional buyer channels to help inform distribution strategy and resource allocation.
- Business Management
- Demonstrate strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and drive results across multiple initiatives and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across organizational levels to support platform, distribution, and investment team objectives.

- Adhere to compliance and legal requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: asset management sales, manager research, discretionary portfolio management, or investment consulting involving third-party investment solutions.
- Strong knowledge of the asset management industry, industry trends, and a broad range of investment products.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses.
- BA/BS degree.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time.
- Proficiency in operating computer programs and software.
- Effective communication skills with audiences in person and in electronic formats.
- Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with professional buyers in the intermediary market, preferably in the independent B/D channel.
- Knowledge of intermediary market business models, including broker-dealers, private banks, annuity providers, and TAMPs.
- Understanding of manager selection and professional buyer decision-making processes.
- Working knowledge of investment product structures, including Mutual Funds, Managed Accounts, and ETFs.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment across multiple organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results, manage competing priorities, and overcome obstacles.
- Strong analytical skills with experience synthesizing and evaluating data to support business initiatives.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and client-facing skills.
- Effective organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Allspring investment products and solutions.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or progress toward completion of the CFA program.
- MBA or other advanced degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
Pay
Base Pay Range: $130,000 - $170,000. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, internal peer base salaries, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include participation in an incentive program linked to performance (e.g., annual discretionary bonus programs or other annual/non-annual incentive or sales plans).
