About the role

A highly respected, globally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its expanding Investment Management practice in New York. Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the formation, structuring, and ongoing operation of private investment funds across asset classes.
  • Work directly with partners and clients on fund launches, regulatory considerations, and investor negotiations.
  • Take ownership of matters while collaborating across a highly integrated, multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and strengthen long-term client relationships.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to fund sponsors navigating evolving market and regulatory landscapes.

Requirements

  • 4–7+ years of law firm experience focused on investment funds and fund formation.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with confidence working directly with clients and investors.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters at once.
  • A proactive, business-oriented approach and comfort operating both independently and within a team.
  • JD and prior law firm experience (required).
  • Admission to the New York Bar.

  • Exceptional academic record from a top-tier law school.
  • Proven track record of success in investment management and fund formation.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and investor relations.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues with clarity and precision.
