Investment Data Analyst

About the role

The Investment Data Analyst will provide scalable, timely, and high-quality data for Strategic Advisers, LLC (SAI) products and functions. This role drives and defines strategy for data analysis, management, acquisition, and distribution, collaborating with SAI business and technology partners on projects of varying size and complexity, including product and platform development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement repeatable processes to streamline data sourcing, aggregation, quality, and distribution.
• Research, recommend, and implement automation, digitization, and scalable solutions for data distribution.
• Partner with business and technology teams to develop project and execution plans, establish milestones, and raise issues as needed to ensure timely production and meet deadlines.
• Participate in data-related efforts to support ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
• Operationally monitor, govern, and triage data issues from nightly batch or real-time data sourcing, working with internal and external partners and vendors.

Requirements

• 2+ years in a data-intensive, hands-on environment, preferably within investment management or technology industries.
• Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress).
• Introductory experience with system development projects, business analysis, and data analysis.
• Basic knowledge of asset allocation investment products, performance, attribution, fixed income, and risk-related experience.
• Good data querying skills using SQL, TOAD, Tableau, Excel, or other applications.
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools like Tableau, Spotfire, Alteryx, or other BI/data prep tools.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, R, Python, or Scala (preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Excel (macros, VLOOKUP, VBA) and PowerPoint.
• Basic project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple work streams while tracking progress and managing expectations.
• Strong analytical skills, business judgment, and intellectual curiosity with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Interest in CFA, CAIA, or other financial certifications is a plus but not required. Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.

The Data Strategy team is an integral part of Strategic Advisers, LLC (SAI), a registered investment advisor and wholly owned subsidiary of FMR LLC. The team collaborates closely with SAI leaders to shape and drive business strategy, ensuring continued success. SAI specializes in designing, constructing, and managing asset allocation solutions and methodologies for Fidelity’s investment planning tools, serving over 3.5 million customer accounts with more than $1 trillion in assets under management.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $80,000–$153,000 per year. Placement in the range varies based on job responsibilities, geographic location, relevant experience, and other factors. Total compensation may also include bonus or variable compensation, depending on eligibility.
