About the role
Citi is seeking an Investment Banking Senior Analyst or Associate to join its Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team. The role involves supporting complex debt financing transactions and strategic advisory mandates for a high-profile corporate client base.
Responsibilities
- Advising clients on debt financing strategies, including syndicated loans, bond issuances, acquisition financings, and liability management, by analyzing credit metrics, capital structures, and prevailing market conditions.
- Executing DCM transactions end-to-end, taking direct ownership of pitching, documentation, marketing, pricing, and settlement activities.
- Building and maintaining complex financial models to support valuations, credit assessments, and financing recommendations for live deals and client pitches.
- Preparing investor marketing materials, written recommendations, valuation analyses, and statistical exhibits to support both pitches and active transactions.
- Monitoring macroeconomic trends, geopolitical developments, and primary market activity to deliver timely, well-informed financing proposals to clients.
- Collaborating with Citi's syndicate desk to shape marketing strategies by analyzing investor feedback and interpreting current market dynamics.
- Coordinating day-to-day with partner banks, legal counsel, auditors, and clients to drive efficient deal execution across all transaction stages.
- Guiding and supporting junior analysts by providing structured feedback, managing information flow, and building their understanding of DCM processes and credit fundamentals.
Requirements
- 2 or more years of relevant experience in investment banking, debt capital markets, or a closely related financial advisory function.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.
- Series 7, 79, and 63 licenses, or the ability to obtain them.
- Demonstrated ability to construct sophisticated financial models and conduct in-depth financial and economic analysis.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into compelling client-facing materials.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment.
- Experience evaluating corporate transactions, capital structures, and credit metrics to support client financing decisions.
Skills
- Experience in Debt Capital Markets or infrastructure and transport financing, with a practical understanding of syndicated loan markets and bond execution processes.
- Prior involvement in business development activities, including industry research, client coverage support, or transaction origination.
