Citizens M&A Consumer & Retail team is seeking an Investment Banking Associate or VP for our LA office. The role involves working closely with junior and senior professionals to prepare, analyze, and execute banking-related transactions, primarily within the U.S. middle market.

About the role

Associates are exposed to multiple industries within our core areas of focus. In addition to key execution responsibilities, they manage consistent deal flow and serve as a main point of contact for clients. Associates have significant exposure to senior bankers and are involved in all stages of a transaction, playing an integral role in delivering value to clients and prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist with the preparation of financial models and business valuations.
  • Support junior and senior team members in developing new business ideas, pitch strategies, or transaction structuring scenarios (including equity, debt, and/or M&A) to help corporate and sponsor clients achieve their financial and strategic objectives.
  • Lead or participate in meetings with current and prospective clients.
  • Conduct industry and company due diligence.
  • Prepare and review information memoranda and other transaction documents, including key marketing and transaction-related materials.
  • Prepare and review pitch/business origination materials and other presentations, contributing to their delivery.
  • Assist with business development efforts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of work experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, or a similar role.
  • Experience in the Consumer & Retail sector is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of accounting, financial modeling, and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

U.S. Immigration sponsorship or work visa is not available for this position. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Pay

The salary range for this position is $200,000 – $250,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn additional incentive earnings. Actual pay is based on factors including budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
