Position Overview

The team is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Analyst to join its Sustainable M&A team in Boston. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex middle-market M&A transactions while gaining exposure to innovative companies shaping the future of energy, infrastructure, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of sell-side, buy-side, strategic advisory, and capital raising transactions for sustainability-focused clients.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses, merger models, and LBO analyses.
  • Prepare valuation materials using DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction, and other analytical methodologies.
  • Develop client presentations, pitch books, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Conduct industry, market, and company research across renewable energy, climate technology, environmental services, sustainable infrastructure, and adjacent sectors.
  • Absorb and execute due diligence processes, data room management, and coordination with clients, legal counsel, accountants, and other advisors.
  • Maintain transaction timelines and support execution through signing and closing.
  • Stay informed on sustainability trends, regulatory developments, and evolving market dynamics impacting the sector.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of investment banking experience, preferably within M&A, industrials, infrastructure, power & utilities, energy transition, or sustainability-focused sectors.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple live projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainability, energy transition, or climate-related industries is highly preferred.
