Investment Banking Analyst - Capital Markets, Financing - 2027
Full-time new hires will start in a two-year program commencing in July 2027. Participation requires location in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned office under Capital One’s hybrid working model.
About the role
The Investment Banking Development Program is a two-year career accelerator designed to foster the next generation of investment banking talent at Capital One. As a full-time Analyst, you will be placed in one of the following lines of business: Derivatives, Financing, KippsDeSanto, or TripleTree. The program provides hands-on, technical, and market-oriented training, exposure to senior leaders, and guidance to help you transition from college to the workplace. You will engage in challenging projects, constant client interaction, and broad product exposure, establishing yourself as a leader in the organization and the financial services industry.
Capital One’s Commercial Banking group services a $70+ billion loan portfolio and more than 6,100 clients. The Capital Markets team offers a broad array of products and services, including Debt & Equity Capital Markets, Structured Products, Loan Syndications, Derivatives, and Mergers & Acquisitions, with two leading Investment Banking platforms: TripleTree (healthcare) and KippsDeSanto, Co. (aerospace, defense & government).
Responsibilities
- Create client marketing presentations, memoranda, and other materials
- Develop an in-depth understanding of investment banking products and services
- Conduct industry and market research
- Prepare and analyze historical and projected financial performance
- Assist in the preparation of valuation models
- Work closely with Capital One’s relationship bankers and Underwriting teams to provide Capital Markets insight and deepen the product and/or advisory suite for their clients
Requirements
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree or higher with completion expected by July 2027 or earlier
Qualifications
- Major in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Data Science (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Exceptional quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
- Knowledge of general accounting and finance principles
- Passion for the financial markets and the economy
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment

Pay
The full-time annual salary for this role is:
- New York, NY: $110,000
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
