Investment Analyst - High Yield Credit

About the role

Our Internal Fixed Income team is seeking an Investment Analyst to support security selection, credit research, and portfolio management for our US High Yield strategy. The role involves conducting fundamental credit analysis, developing investment recommendations, and identifying relative value opportunities across assigned sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform issuer and industry research, analyze financial statements and capital structures, monitor market developments, and build forward-looking investment theses.
  • Contribute to portfolio construction, risk management, and investment decision-making in collaboration with the High Yield Portfolio Manager.
  • Participate in investment discussions and meetings with management teams and market participants.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • CFA Charterholder or pursuit of the CFA designation.
  • MBA or master’s degree in finance or related field preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in investments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to embrace and adapt to the ever-changing investment and organizational environment.
  • Ability to perform and understand higher order mathematics for economic, investment and portfolio management reports.
  • Bloomberg experience preferred.
  • The ability to become licensed as a State Retirement System Investment Officer (SRSIO) within six months of hire and to abide by the OPERS Personal Trading Policy is required.
