About the role
The Office of the Cherokee County Solicitor-General seeks an Investigator to assist Assistant Solicitors-General in prosecuting misdemeanor criminal cases.
Responsibilities
- Gather and preserve evidence
- Work with law enforcement agencies to develop cases
- Interview/speak to victims, witnesses and defendants
- Filing and serving subpoenas
- Assist prosecutors in the courtroom and prepare cases for prosecution
- Aid in the administration and organization of case files
- Mailing victim impact statements
- Perform related clerical tasks
Requirements
- Citizen of the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Not convicted by any state or federal government of any crime
- P.O.S.T certified Georgia Peace Officer willing to become a certified Drug Recognition Expert within 12 months
- Proficiency with a firearm
- Valid Georgia Driver’s license
Qualifications
- Experience as a law enforcement officer (municipal, county, state, or federal)
- Certification as a Drug Recognition Expert
