About the role

The Office of the Cherokee County Solicitor-General seeks an Investigator to assist Assistant Solicitors-General in prosecuting misdemeanor criminal cases.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and preserve evidence
  • Work with law enforcement agencies to develop cases
  • Interview/speak to victims, witnesses and defendants
  • Filing and serving subpoenas
  • Assist prosecutors in the courtroom and prepare cases for prosecution
  • Aid in the administration and organization of case files
  • Mailing victim impact statements
  • Perform related clerical tasks

Requirements

  • Citizen of the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Not convicted by any state or federal government of any crime
  • P.O.S.T certified Georgia Peace Officer willing to become a certified Drug Recognition Expert within 12 months
  • Proficiency with a firearm
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s license

Qualifications

  • Experience as a law enforcement officer (municipal, county, state, or federal)
  • Certification as a Drug Recognition Expert
