About the role
The Investigative Support Specialist will provide analytical, operational, and project support to the Office of Special Investigations (OSI).
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and managing Calls for Service (CFS) requests, including intake, tracking, assignment, status monitoring, prioritization, and closure activities.
- Maintaining and managing investigative and operational information systems, databases, and workflow tracking tools.
- Managing OSI related projects through developing and maintaining project trackers via MS Project, dashboards, and status reports.
- Conducting administrative reviews, audits, and quality assurance activities to support compliance, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Providing budget, policy, and administrative support to OSI leadership.
Requirements
- Valid Minnesota Driver's License.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years work experience in a professional technical or support specific role that includes:
- Demonstrated knowledge of investigative, intelligence, and security procedures.
- A working understanding of the Criminal Justice system and any case/record management systems thereof.
- Experience with coordinating operational or project tasks, including tracking timelines, communicating updates and deliverables, and creating written and verbal documentation.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Further educational training in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or Project Management.
- (Degree, Diploma or Certificate).
- Experience working within a secure environment (e.g., government, corrections, human services, law enforcement, compliance, or intelligence).
- Experience managing investigative and operational information systems.
