About the role
To combat drug trafficking, you have the power to contribute to national security and improve the quality of life for all Americans. This role involves developing and conducting polygraph examinations, identifying misconduct, and advising on polygraph operations.
Responsibilities
- Developing and conducting polygraph examinations of investigative subjects.
- Identifying information and reporting polygraph conclusions for potentially pre-disqualifying misconduct.
- Verifying applicant statements using polygraph disciplines to support adjudicative decisions.
- Advising various staff coordinators and managers on polygraph operations and policies.
- Performing DEA polygraph examinations and/or polygraph quality control reviews.
Requirements
- Successfully complete the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) or Predecessor Basic PDD course as a federal polygraph examiner.
- Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 grade level, including:
- Conducting the Empirical Scoring System when reviewing polygraph software.
- Using practical experience in techniques relating to polygraph pre and post examination interviews.
- Explaining relevant topics to differentiate disqualifying conduct from non-pertinent transgressions.
- Testifying in litigation as a sworn federal agent.
- Providing technical review of examination files.
