About the role

The Investigative Aide completes administrative duties and uniformed security-related functions critical to maintaining the safety of the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, including MCAO facilities and personnel, as well as all clients and the public. This position performs camera monitoring, emergency services, identification badging tasks, operational functions, data searches, and research to locate identified subjects through gathering, compiling, and analyzing relevant information.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, analyzes, and prepares comprehensive files of acquired documentation and data.
  • Performs clerical duties including typing, filing, and operation of office equipment.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and security of sensitive information and files.
  • Maintains surveillance of video cameras and various security systems.
  • Performs identification badging functions such as creating, programming, and issuing.
  • May inspect identification badges to control employee access and prevent unauthorized entry to restricted areas.
  • Performs walking and mobile patrols of a designated area.
  • Implements emergency procedures when appropriate or as directed.
  • Provides basic first aid and CPR in medical emergencies.
  • Handles incoming/outgoing packages and deliveries.
  • Writes and prepares incident reports, logs, and other documents as required.
  • Provides customer service to department personnel, public, and external agencies by assisting with requests for reports, documents, and inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of specialized experience in a legal or law enforcement environment directly related to the essential job tasks.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for up to one year of the required experience.

Other Requirements

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain Criminal Justice Information System Network Terminal Operator Certification (TOC) Level B, within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.

Job Contributions

Requires alternating long periods of sitting while completing computer activities and paperwork, standing, and continuous walking during the course of performing duties. Frequent interruptions, time pressure, and high volumes of work may be a common occurrence. Must be able to work off shifts and flexible schedules. Alternative Work Assignment of four 10-hour days (4/10s) is available. Must have the ability to move up to 20 pounds from the floor to the waist and push/pull up to 20 pounds up to 100 feet. Requires the ability to perform physical activities related to public safety functions.
