Investigation Specialist II , Global Product Verification (GPV)

The Global Product Verification (GPV) team is Amazon's premier product authentication and verification team, protecting marketplace integrity through comprehensive product verification systems. Responsibilities
As a GPV Investigator, you will be part of a team responsible for inspecting and auditing products sold by third-party sellers on Amazon.com store for various defects impacting Amazon’s customers. You will leverage various tools (microscopes, x-ray, et al), systems, standard operating procedures and job aids to assist in identifying product quality defects across a range of programs.
- Meet weekly investigative targets established by leadership
- Meet weekly quality assurance goals as defined by leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve our internal processes and procedures to help streamline our day-to-day operations
- Work closely with leadership and Sr. Investigators in identifying trends and themes to assist our internal customers, Product Quality stakeholders, in driving upstream improvements in Seller quality metrics, and overall customer experience
A typical day-to-day activities include: Conducting product investigations, following established investigation procedures, focusing on low to medium complexity issues, updating investigation tracking systems, and attending team meetings.
Qualifications
The role requires 3+ years of quality assurance engineering experience, or a Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent. Additionally, experience working with computer and web-based tools, and the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel is necessary. Experience analyzing large datasets and translating them to actionable business insight is also required.
- Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
- 2+ years of fraud/risk investigations experience
- 2+ years of implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts
- 3+ years of fraud identification and detection, investigation and analysis for root causing and providing suitable preventive mechanisms experience

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $22.00 - $31.00 USD hourly. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
