About the role

As a Distribution Center Team Leader, you'll play a key role in supporting warehouse operations. You'll assist supervisors with scheduling and assigning tasks, conduct daily team meetings, and train others. You'll also handle inventory management tasks such as cycle counts, inventory corrections, and product returns.

Responsibilities

  • Assist supervisors with the schedule and issuing of work assignments.
  • Conduct team meetings daily to delegate tasks and announce daily goals.
  • Train others and provide guidance.
  • Identify problems in the warehouse inventory, conduct research to determine cause of problem while recommending next steps and necessary corrective actions.
  • Perform cycle counts on high dollar discrepancies, while monitoring and reconciling unknown inventory.
  • Aid team members in the areas of trouble shooting, research, and adjustments to correct locations / on-hand inventory balances.
  • Develop procedures for the effective movement of inventory in the warehouse, while complying with all work instructions as determined by ISO standards.
  • Communicate with wave planning concerning results of cycle counts, product information, and the movement of product if deemed necessary.
  • Aids in the returning of product to plant/vendor or scrapping.
  • Disposes of damaged product in accordance to Company Policy.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics environment.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with JDA Warehouse Management System and Exacta, or similar WMS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods as required by the department.
