About the Role
Supervises the daily activities of the inventory control staff. Ensures adequate levels of material and/or product inventories are maintained. Responsible for evaluating inventory needs and implementing strategies to meet those needs.
Responsibilities
- Implements inventory management strategies to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, cost, and profitability
- Directs staffing, training, and performance management to develop and improve the inventory management function
- Manages and tracks product inventories, providing direction on work in process, finished goods, and aged inventories to assure financial reconciliation and inventory integrity
- Directs and prioritizes daily activities, including job packet review, cycle counts, audits, damaged material management, and waste tracking and disposal
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management processes and information flow
- Prepares and reviews required business reports
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required
- Stand-Up Forklift Experience required
- Prior SAP or WMS experience preferred
Skills
- Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards, and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products
- Ability to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components
- Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods
- Knowledge of the processes, tools, and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
- Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting with time also spent in an office setting
- Frequent walking and standing required
- Occasional travel required
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
