Inventory Planner

Helmet House is the leading U.S. distributor of helmets and apparel in the Motorcycle and Powersports industry. Founded in 1969, we supply Powersports Dealers across the U.S. with top helmet brands including SHOEI, HJC, Alpinestars, and apparel brands like Tourmaster, Cortech, and NORU. Our headquarters and distribution center are located in Calabasas Hills, CA, with an additional distribution point in Southaven, MS, and a digital marketing team in Lake Oswego, OR.

About the role

Helmet House is looking for an Inventory Planner to manage inventory levels, analyze sales trends, and plan future buys. The Inventory Planner will collaborate with merchandising to meet inventory needs, maintain healthy stock levels, and meet customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Use inventory reports and sales data to identify trends and inform purchasing decisions, while identifying key opportunities.
• Maintain inventory levels to avoid overstock or understock positions.
• Work within Open-to-Buy (OTB) constraints.
• Use historical data and demand patterns to achieve sales forecasts.
• Review assortment to provide SKU count guidance for end-of-life products.
• Handle vendor communications.
• Perform wholesale planning and forecasting.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in apparel planning, merchandising, or related roles.
• Experience in inventory management and data analysis is preferred but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Retail Management, Merchandising, Business, or a related field.

Skills

• Strong analytical and retail math skills.
• Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, XLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with retail planning and ERP systems is preferred; experience with Microsoft Business Central is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Pay

Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 depending on skills and experience.
