About the role
Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Rejects unsatisfactory items where necessary. Calculates and records storage. May reroute urgent shipments or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepares and maintains records of shipped products and tracks shipments.
Responsibilities
- Receives incoming materials, unpacks, and checks goods against purchase orders or invoices.
- Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
- Maintains records of received goods.
- Stocks and distributes materials in inventory.
- Lifts heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) following all safety protocols.
- May operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc., upon receipt of internal certification.
Requirements
- Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
- One of the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Ability to lift 30 lbs and ability to learn to use a forklift, order picker, and power pallet jack.
- Ability to work from extended heights.
- Proficient in MS Office and good written communication.
