About the role

The Inventory Control Specialist will work in a high-involvement, empowered environment, collaborating with teams across the organization to manage inventory effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly and end-of-year cycle counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Fulfill tasks such as allocating product, adding empty reels to incoming orders, and inputting orders for vendors.
- Receive supermarket product into inventory and enter/validate/audit information on Kanban boards.
- File completed orders appropriately and use IMS systems to print labels and tag measured reels.
- Operate a forklift to put away product and assist the Distribution Center Manager in managing inventory.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, including the Shipping/Scheduling Supervisor, Leads, Quality Manager, Scheduler, Planners, Fabricators, and Accounting Manager.

- Perform housekeeping duties, such as re-labeling product and identifying solutions for space constraints.
- Maintain organized and compliant storage practices aligned with safety and quality standards.
- Ensure proper documentation and transaction processing using ERP systems (JDE, TMS, DSI, Qlik).
- Build and maintain relationships with other departments to support business operations.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the DC Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three years of related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as order confirmations, customer POs, shipping schedules, and procedure manuals.
- Proficiency in preparing routine reports and professional correspondence.
- Strong communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and computation of rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems and/or ERP systems.
- Certification as a Forklift Operator.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Familiarity with inventory forecasting and demand planning.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Must wear safety equipment, including approved metatarsal safety shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection.
