Inventory Control Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and stage materials for production two weeks in advance, following FIFO procedures
  • Review inventory 2–4 weeks ahead for all SKUs scheduled for production
  • Verify that Production Orders and Bills of Materials (BOM) align with Purchase Orders
  • Monitor SAP for inventory shortages and component delivery timelines; communicate updates one month in advance of production
  • Create Production Pull Sheets by SKU for forklift operators
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed
  • Assist with distributing Pick Lists for Finished Goods shipments
  • Serve as the Production Inventory Gatekeeper, advising Logistics on component pickups based on the production schedule
  • Maintain accurate inventory and logistic data for daily, weekly, and quarterly reporting, including usage metrics, issue tracking, training records, and work logs
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to improve efficiency, eliminate unnecessary steps, and resolve inventory or logistics challenges
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, documentation requirements, safety protocols, and legal regulations across vendors, carriers, and warehouse personnel
  • Notify the Quality Department promptly when raw materials arrive for sampling
  • Conduct regular component audits for Production. Provide comprehensive logistical support daily for both inbound and outbound shipments, including verifying safety procedures and overseeing quality assurance
  • Operate both stand up and sit-down forklifts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1+ year experience with a computerized inventory system
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and strong keyboard skills preferred
  • Stand up and sit-down forklift certification preferred
