About the role
As an Inventory Control Specialist I, you will support inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, minor adjustments, and collaboration with other departments. This entry-level role is essential to maintaining the integrity of our inventory systems. This position is performed on-site during Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts and report discrepancies
- Make minor inventory adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with Manufacturing to resolve inventory accuracy issues
- Maintain alignment between the ERP system and other software systems such as Cogiscan and Kardex
- Participate in annual inventory audits and continuous improvement efforts
- Assist in the disposal of obsolete or excess inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in inventory control, material handling, or warehousing
- Strong hands-on experience with warehouse bin/location mapping and location management, including establishing and maintaining location structures, auditing physical-to-system location accuracy, resolving misplaced inventory, and improving overall bin integrity
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse slotting and material organization principles, with the ability to maintain sustainable location discipline as inventory and production requirements change
- Forklift certification required; demonstrated experience safely operating powered industrial equipment in a warehouse environment. Must be comfortable using forklifts to access, move, organize, and verify inventory throughout assigned storage areas
- Strong math skills, including basic algebra
- Basic understanding of inventory management, cycle counting, and part numbering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
- Effective communication and organizational skills in English
- Ability to work collaboratively and handle challenging situations
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
