About the role
Shift: 11AM-7:30PM (Sunday night - Thursday night)
The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for coordinating the workflow for a team of Inventory Control Specialists in the Memorial Hermann Consolidated Service Center (CSC). This position is responsible for inventory movement; inventory control, assigned distribution projects and control of all product lines carried by the CSC, ensuring all processes within assigned area are followed. This position is responsible for providing direction to all associates involved in the control and execution of inventory practices. The position typically reports to the Operations Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED, preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Certification preferred
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Minimum of three (3) years warehouse inventory control experience required
- Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience
- Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions
- Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can easily follow
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to exercise good judgement in handling difficult situations
- Demonstrates ability to work in a high-energy environment with time sensitive projects and processes
- Experience successfully operating and maintaining forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other electric material handling equipment
- Ability to perform in a metrics-driven environment
Responsibilities
- Completes physical inventories, cycle counts, random audits and reconciliations
- Tracks and reports non-conforming product
- Works with warehouse employees to ensure proper rotation and location of all inventory
- Conducts searches in order to locate misclassified inventory
- Maintains product identification and location program
- Responsible for communicating and developing process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them)
- Identifies damaged inventory and place it in designated damage holding area. Ensures proper adjustments are created to correct system inventory levels. Conducts investigation for discrepancies and inconsistencies in CSC processes
- Responsible for employee training within assigned area to include reviewing work instructions with employees
- Establishes, maintains and drives attainment in inventory accuracy goals and metrics
- Effectively utilizes and ensures compliance with inventory control and the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Manages work flow throughout entire process to ensure accuracy
- Participates in staff meetings to address specific topics pertaining to inventory control
- Works with Operations Team to improve inventory accuracy levels and supports projects
- May be required to work overtime and/or weekends
