About the role
The IC Lead I at Jabil Inc. is responsible for coordinating and overseeing inventory control activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to established procedures within the manufacturing or warehouse environment. This role involves guiding a team of inventory control specialists and contributing to the optimization of material flow.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small team of Inventory Control Specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, reconciling discrepancies and investigating root causes of variances.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify potential shortages or excesses, and collaborate with planning and production teams to address issues.
- Utilize inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) to track material movement, generate reports, and analyze data.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce waste, and optimize storage utilization.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production schedules.
- Ensure the proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials to prevent damage, obsolescence, and loss.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or materials management, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices (e.g., cycle counting, FIFO, LIFO).
- Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
- Physical ability to lift and move materials as required.
