Inventory Control Clerk I - 1st Shift

About the role
As an Inventory Control Clerk, you'll help maintain inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, supporting production, and ensuring materials move efficiently throughout our manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform cycle counts of raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, packaging, and inventory throughout the facility.
- Review inventory records and ERP system data to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Research inventory variances by reviewing transactions, documentation, and material movement.
- Partner with Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and other departments to resolve inventory issues and minimize production disruptions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support continuous inventory improvements.
- Conduct physical inventory audits and assist with scheduled inventory counts.
- Analyze inventory trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve inventory accuracy.
- Help maintain accurate inventory transactions within the ERP system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while supporting Pelican's commitment to Quality and Continuous Improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of inventory control, warehouse, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.
- Experience performing inventory counts, reconciliations, or inventory analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or another ERP system.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices, cycle counting, and material transactions.
- Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
