About the role

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and integrity across warehouse and ERP system transactions. This position supports material management operations through cycle counting, inventory transaction review, shipment coordination, work order release, and warehouse support activities. The Inventory Control Clerk works closely with Materials, Production, Procurement, and Shipping personnel to ensure inventory records are accurate and materials move efficiently through the operation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Investigate inventory variances and work with appropriate departments to resolve root causes.
  • Maintain inventory integrity within the ERP system through accurate and timely transaction processing.
  • Review inventory transactions for completeness and accuracy, correcting errors as required.
  • Monitor inventory movements and ensure proper documentation of receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments.
  • Obtain LTL freight quotes and compare shipping options to support cost-effective transportation decisions.
  • Schedule LTL shipments with approved carriers and coordinate required shipping documentation.
  • Process and release customer orders as shipped within the ERP system.
  • Release work orders to production and print kitting lists to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production personnel to ensure materials are available to support production requirements.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and general warehouse activities as needed.
  • Operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, if trained and authorized.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, material flow, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and identify root causes.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Sound judgment, logical reasoning, and well-developed problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Two or more years of inventory control, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing experience preferred. Experience working within an ERP system preferred. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.

Schedule

Work onsite Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work as business needs require.
