About the Role

As an Inventory Clerk at Prime Controls, you are responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting inventory transactions, cycle counts, and audits, and keeping the warehouse organized. Your work ensures that material can be found, counted, and trusted, which is crucial for downstream processes like kitting, job site delivery, and project cost tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy by verifying on-hand quantities against system records through daily inventory verification and completing necessary transactions.
  • Perform scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts, record results, and investigate/document the cause of discrepancies before adjustments are made.
  • Confirm material is in its assigned location with matching quantities, lot numbers, and serial numbers in the system and paperwork.
  • Process inventory adjustments, receipts, transfers, and returns accurately and on the same day.
  • Assist receiving, put-away, kitting, and shipping teams during high-volume periods to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Keep count sheets, adjustment records, and audit documentation complete, legible, and filed for traceability.
  • Follow inventory control procedures, safety protocols, and wear appropriate PPE; report hazards or near-misses.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse, inventory control, or similar role in a warehouse, distribution, construction, or industrial environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate counting, and ability to match part numbers, lot numbers, and serial numbers against system records.
  • Experience with inventory systems and Microsoft Excel for processing transactions, recording counts, and reconciling results.
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to work well in a team.
  • Willingness to investigate discrepancies rather than adjust or pass them downstream.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects and stand/walk for the full shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing cycle counts or physical inventories in an ERP or inventory management system; Acumatica experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, electrical, and control system material, or ability to learn manufacturers and cost codes quickly.
  • Ability to safely operate a pallet jack and other material handling equipment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and proactive in identifying/correcting inventory issues.

Benefits

  • Health, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • Flexible Spending Account(s)
  • Generous PTO
