About the role
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory levels to ensure that a company's stock is accurate, organized, and available as needed. Key duties include tracking inventory, conducting regular stock audits, reconciling discrepancies, coordinating with purchasing and sales teams to manage stock levels, and ensuring proper storage and handling of goods.
Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory integrity by ensuring the effective monitoring of sales and receipt transactions reflecting accurate inventory counts, and executing proper solutions to inventory control as considered necessary
- Ensure that the physical on-hand material count matches the computed perpetual inventory count on a daily basis including documenting process
- Reporting, researching, adjusting and correcting inventory as needed
- Ensure the cycle count calendar is up to date and counts are performed on time
- Ensure inventory shrink is limited and any loss is within company guidelines
- Track and properly handle all damaged items through appropriate sales or adjustments
- Review alerts and monitor back-ordered sales and non-stock items or return frequently
- Identify incorrect orders or transactions and correct errors to sales or receipt
- Prevent incorrect and untimely transactions by requesting and creating any changes or additions to SKU as required as well as corrections to bin locations
- Utilize and review reports to discover and correct any errors to sales or receipt transactions
- Aid the management team in limiting actual and potential shrink (loss of product) both physical and electronic and recommend necessary improvements
- Prepare the branch for annual physical inventory
Requirements
- Strong computer skills: experience with Word and Excel
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers
- Ability to problem solve
- Well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to calculate figures and understand measurements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in inventory management or related field preferred
