About the role
Works in conjunction with the site Operations Manager to maintain accurate inventory levels at the location. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all inventories, verifying orders received and shipped, and ensuring proper accounting in company records. Handles defective or damaged products with appropriate corrective action and manages cycle counts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records and follow procedures to meet goals
- Verify all orders received and shipped, ensuring proper accounting
- Account for defective or damaged products and take corrective action
- Manage and reconcile cycle counts; perform daily cycle counts as assigned
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes
- Pull slow-moving or obsolete inventory for disposal, salvage, or donation (may involve physical lifting or moving)
- Process returned shipments by unloading trailers and categorizing inventory as first quality or damaged
- Ensure proper documentation is signed off and filed
- Participate in and coach LTOs during physical inventories or samplings to ensure integrity
- Conduct searches to locate products within the system and adjust records for discrepancies
- Correct and prevent inventory discrepancies; research unique occurrences to avoid bay locks or adjustments
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards per Food Safety Guidelines
- Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices; report noncompliance
- Observe and assist in enforcing company safety rules
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or one year of related experience in inventory control and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
- Knowledge of inventory management procedures and warehousing terminology/practices
- Familiarity with warehouse and inventory management systems
Skills
- Mathematics and proficiency with personal computers (Excel) and spreadsheets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Pay
$22.00 per hour
Schedule
6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
