About the role
The Inventory Control Associate is a crucial member of our team, responsible for maintaining the operational efficiency of our distribution centers. This detail-oriented role involves overseeing, monitoring, and validating inventory levels to ensure accuracy across departments and functions. It is ideal for a curious problem-solver deeply committed to safety.
Responsibilities
- Document inventory by recording additions, disbursements, adjustments, losses, and removal of items.
- Prepare inventory reports.
- Maintain inventory operations by following policies and procedures and report changes as needed.
- Ensure shipment and delivery time schedules are maintained.
- Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies.
- Perform periodic reviews of inventory stock, recording quantity, type, and value of materials on hand.
- Clean up and dispose of boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of facility and specific product line areas.
- Rotate through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business.
- Participate in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position.
- Operate equipment safely to ensure no damage to merchandise, equipment, or facilities.
- Perform safety checks on lifts, reporting any damage prior to start and end of shift.
- Perform routine equipment servicing, including attaching a battery charger, replenishing fuel, and checking for safety of operations.
- Perform all job tasks assigned by leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals.
Requirements
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Complete understanding of training and communication resources relevant to the position.
- Awareness of loss prevention, security, and safety following company guidelines.
- Computer literate, including proficiency with Google Suite.
- Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills.
- English language proficiency.
- 1+ years of related experience working with inventory control.
- 1+ years of experience operating power equipment.
- Demonstrated strong experience working with inventory control (highly preferred).
- Working experience in a Warehouse Management System (preferred).
- Related experience within the Corporate Sales environment.
- Willing and/or able to be MHE Certified.
