About the role
The position is hourly and reports to either the Safe and Secure Team Lead or the Safe and Secure Manager. It is a safety-sensitive position.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a service first approach in everything you do.

- Be the face of Carvana to our associates, vendors, and visitors at our gates.
- Partner with your Safe and Secure Team Lead and Manager to remedy various requests for badge creation, CCTV review, and other components.
- Ensure each request is delivered in a timely, quality, and service-oriented manner.
- Be there when the Team needs you.
- Be trained and certified on a variety of life-saving measures such as first aid, CPR, and AED.
- Take action when necessary and bring your skills to the forefront during emergency situations.
- Promote an incident-ready focus every day at your site.
- Understand and execute the facility Safe and Secure Principles at the entrance/exits.
- Utilize our Safe and Secure Application (SAS App) and RFID Technology.
- Manage and properly document the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center entrance and exit gates.
- Conduct routine patrols of the Inspection Center and Logistics facility yard and buildings - documenting any security and/or safety concerns.
- Lead with effective communication with team, partners, and customers.
- Act as a valuable resource for new associates by actively participating in onboarding and providing ongoing coaching and development when needed.
Qualifications
- Recommend 1 year of Carvana Safe and Secure experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of strong decision-making in a complex environment.
- Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
- Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way.
- Knowledge of CCTV, RFID, Card Access, and other Safe and Secure Technology.
- Previous experience supporting an OSHA program – Safety Team.
- Previous experience supporting crisis prevention and/or response plans.
Skills
- Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
- Use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
- Frequent driving and computer data entry.
- Adherence to regular and predictable attendance.
