About the Role
The Inventory Control Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the department and ensuring that adequate inventory of products and services are in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy. This position conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems, develops and implements inventory control procedures, and coordinates and manages daily physical counts along with training and managing the team. Responsibilities include scheduling team hours, maintaining warehouse equipment, warehouse housekeeping, and assigning priorities for labor, documentation/time requirements, and customer demands. This position reports to the General Manager of Warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Daily:
- QI process for Bay Valley inventory to ensure availability for Rico's
- Labor planning
- Ensuring payroll time is correct
- Consistently communicating with external clients
- Outsourcing labor as needed
- Handling special project requests from clients
- Weekly:
- Attending weekly manager and supervisor meetings
- Attending all strategic leadership meetings
- Monthly:
- Keeping track of all facility updates
- KPI tracking
- Maintaining and documenting maintenance of all equipment
- Inputting Peco and Chep information into the system once a week
- Quarterly:
- Ensuring performance reviews, team goals, and forecasting are documented and completed in a timely manner
- Job Complexity:
- Management skills and the ability to manage a staff of employees
- Hire, train, coach, mentor, and hold all warehouse staff accountable
- Ability to lead or support IT modification projects
- Maintain an organized, neat, and orderly operation as it pertains to Inventory Control
- Ensure all project and client KPIs are met or exceeded
- Knowledge of reporting requirements as it pertains to co-pack
- Good communication, problem resolution, and people skills
- Maintain AIB policy and procedures
Requirements
- 5 or more years of Warehouse Management experience
- Ability to report/track trending and historical data
- Strong business writing and case analysis skills
- Intermediate algebra and financial math proficiency
- Experience in Inventory Control and Transportation Warehouse
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Excel skills with basic knowledge of Access, data entry, and general computer abilities
- Experience in warehouse safety and safety training
Qualifications
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons
- Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others
- Regularly work in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion
- Frequently required to talk, hear, stand, and walk
- Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and concentrate on more than one task at a time
- Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision
- Must hear speech out of both ears in the normal range of 30db at 500 to 2000 Hz range
- Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones
- Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
Schedule
Monday - Friday / 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with availability to be on call. Hours may vary depending on business needs.
Pay
$75,000 - $85,000 annual depending on experience.
