Inventory Clerk
Key Responsibilities
- Creates shipping pick lists and pulls material from stock.
- Receives material into stock.
- Performs data entry for inventory transactions.
- Participates in daily cycle counting.
- Picks and issues parts from inventory for assembly, machine shop and sales orders.
- Serves as backup to:
- Saw Operator
- Correctly identifies and cuts materials in the production saw area.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Graduate or GED
- Experience: 1+ years equivalent experience as an Inventory Clerk in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of ERP systems a plus; Knowledge of UPS World Ship, FedEx Ship Manager and DHL Shipping a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to engage in active listening which includes providing full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Skilled in judgment and decision making by considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Ability to speak to others to convey information effectively.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of material handling procedures.
- Basic knowledge using various measuring devices including calipers and measuring tape.
- Basic knowledge of computer and Microsoft applications.
- Must be able to operate forklift to unload and load trucks.
Additional Details
- The employee occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs., and occasionally kneels and bends.
