About the role
Maintains accurate inventory levels in conjunction with the site Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all inventories.
- Handle all paperwork and follow procedures to meet inventory goals.
- Verify all orders received and shipped, ensuring they are properly accounted for.
- Account for defective or damaged products and take appropriate corrective action.
- Manage and reconcile cycle counts, performing them daily as assigned.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies found through cycle counts.
- Pull slow-moving or obsolete inventory as requested by customers.
- Process returned shipments by unloading trailers and identifying quality or damaged inventory.
- Ensure proper documentation is signed off and filed.
- Participate and coach in physical inventories or samplings to maintain inventory integrity.
- Conduct searches to locate products within the system and adjust records accordingly.
- Identify and research unique inventory occurrences to correct them before making adjustments.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with Food Safety Guidelines.
- Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance.
- Observe and enforce company safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or one-year related experience in inventory control and/or training.
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management procedures and warehousing terminology and practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse and inventory management systems.
- Skills in mathematics, personal computers (Excel), and spreadsheets.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Accuracy and thoroughness with great attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
