Inventory Associate II

About the role

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.

Responsibilities

• Receive, distribute, and store Business Enterprises (BE) food service and vending equipment.
• Assign duties to the warehouse assistant.
• Ensure all received equipment is assigned an asset tag and entered into inventory.
• Distribute equipment in accordance with ongoing projects or operational needs in the field and store to ensure accessibility, accountability, and future use.
• Identify equipment for surplus and coordinate disposal on a monthly basis.
• Schedule delivery and setup of newly acquired equipment with vendors, including operator training when necessary.
• Arrange pickup of equipment that is broken, no longer needed, or no longer in use.
• Respond to requests from BE Consultants when equipment requires replacement and maintain accurate records of all new equipment and supplies for performance evaluation and warranty follow-up.

Requirements

• Must be able to safely lift more than 50 lbs.
• Must be able to sit, squat, lift, bend, kneel, climb stairs, lay down as needed for the job.

Qualifications

• High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and three (3) years of related experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Experience in the vending and/or food service industry.
• Experience, through professional or lived involvement, working with or supporting individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Pay

$31,200.00 - $49,340.00

Position is funded in part through federal funding.
